SunCooler™ units are installed directly on the roof over classrooms and common areas. The school-specific version runs noticeably quieter than industrial models so students are never disturbed. All modes are fully autonomous and programmable through SunConfig with sensor triggers.
Exhaust Mode: High-Velocity Heat & Contaminant Removal
Exhaust mode rapidly pulls hot stratified air, dust, VOCs from labs and cleaning products, and cafeteria emissions out through the ceiling while drawing fresh outside air into the space. The high-velocity turbulent airflow also delivers proven psychrometric cooling that raises occupant heat tolerance and keeps classrooms comfortable even on the hottest days.
Nightflush Mode: Pre-Cooling the Building Overnight
At night the SunCooler runs in Induction mode (powered by its onboard battery) to flush the building with cool nighttime air. This pre-cools the entire thermal mass of the structure so classrooms start the next day significantly cooler, delaying or reducing the need for mechanical cooling and helping prevent early closures during heat waves.
Destratification Mode: Even Temperatures + Optional Filter Mode
Destratification seals off outdoor air and pushes warm ceiling air down to the occupied zone, eliminating cold floors and delivering up to 30% heating energy savings in winter. For classrooms where any downward airflow should be minimized, the system can run in reverse as Filter Mode, providing gentle, even air circulation throughout the space without directing a strong column at students. 7. How long does installation take and how disruptive is it?
Installation is extremely low-disruption. Nearly all work occurs on the roof in a simple “drop-in” process. Most school projects are completed in 1-3 weeks with almost no impact on classes or daily operations.
