How the SunCooler™ Intelligently Regulates Temperature and Humidity

The SunCooler™ uses built-in temperature and humidity sensors together with SunConfig programming to automatically select the optimal operating mode. This intelligent control ensures the facility stays within safe temperature and humidity ranges without relying on energy-intensive HVAC or moisture-adding swamp coolers.

Smart Mode Selection for Sensitive Storage

  • Daytime Induction: When outdoor air is cooler and drier than indoor conditions, the SunCooler opens its dampers and pushes large volumes of fresh outdoor air directly into the occupied zone lowering temperature and humidity without adding moisture.
  • Daytime Exhaust: When ceiling air becomes significantly warmer than the floor level, the SunCooler pulls hot stratified air out through the roof. This reduces the load on existing HVAC systems and prevents temperature spikes that could affect MREs, pharmaceuticals, or other sensitive materials.
  • Nightflush (Night Purge): After sunset, when outdoor temperatures typically drop 10–25°F, the SunCooler automatically switches to Induction Mode. It flushes out warm indoor air and pre-cools the building’s thermal mass (concrete floors, walls, and stored product) overnight. The facility starts the next day noticeably cooler, delaying or reducing HVAC runtime and avoiding emergency swamp-cooler use.
